Theatre and film actress Magdalena Wiedenhofer was born in Basel into a family of opera singers. She is also a trained yoga teacher and certified therapist for trauma-sensitive bodywork. Magdalena lives in Berlin.

She began her career at the Châtelet de Paris at the age of seven as the ‘Petite Fille’ in ‘60e Parallèle’. Further productions followed in Germany. At the age of 17, she worked as a freelance assistant director in Germany and France and directed her first plays. From 2009 to 2013, she studied acting under the artistic direction of Luk Perceval at the Academy of Performing Arts Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg, during which time she received her first permanent engagements at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden and Münchner Volkstheater and shot her first short films with the Filmakademie Ludwigsburg. Since, she has regularly been seen on TV, lately in „Tatort“.

She has worked with film directors Maurice Hübner, Shirel Peleg, Elke Hauck, Samira Radsi, Kai Wessel, Torsten C. Fischer and Connie Walter, as well as theatre directors Falk Richter, Lilja Ruprecht, Christian Stückl and Mina Salehpour.

Magdalena Wiedenhofer has recently appeared on the theatre stage in Der Hauptmann von Köpenick at the ATZE Musiktheater Berlin and Die Dreigroschenoper as Polly Peachum at the Münchener Volkstheater. In 2025, she played the female lead in a highly acclaimed adaptation of Don Juan at the Monbijou Theater in Berlin, directed by Wolfgang Michalek, a production which will be re-brought this summer. In July 2026 she will also play in an adaptation of Shakespears’s „Twelfe night, Or what you will“, equally at the Monbijou-Theater.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, she achieved her certificate as a trauma-sensitive body therapist between 2021 and 2023, and has been a certified yoga teacher since 2022.
